When asked by CRN, solution providers recently named cloud services as the most demanded service from customers and clients. And with solution provider companies looking to move to recurring revenue business models, the call for cloud is coming at just the right time.
Eric Rockwell, whose company, CentrexIT, deals with managed services in the health-care space, said his cloud business grew 100 percent last year. That business is primarily in the private cloud, which is a trend in itself.
“We’re seeing a lot more demand from our clients as well as people we’re just meeting at various networking events, all interested in cloud,” said John Hill, president and CEO of Tech Sage. “We do talk a lot about the private cloud in particular because a lot of the small businesses are uncomfortable with the perceived lack of security and all that, in the big public cloud.”
Clients also want email in the cloud, and to be able to access information remotely.
“People are wanting to move mail and such to the cloud, and have more collaboration and sharing without having to be in the office,” said Chris Timmons of Asystech.
Brian Miller, principal at Fusiontek, said his company is looking to wrap cloud migration and transition services into their managed services offerings. “Now we’re really rolling it up and putting it into a bundled component, which might have multiple vendors or multiple solutions.”
