AireSpring continues to extend its roster of expert regional Channel Managers with the addition of Kerry Homes. Based in Connecticut, Kerry will manage and further develop AireSpring's channel partner relationships in the tri-state area covering New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.

Kerry began her career in Telecom in 2008 at Granite Communications where she excelled as an Account Executive and AT&T Solution Provider in the Northeast.

Later her career led her to MegaPath (now Fusion Connect) where she spent over 6 years, originally starting out in account management and client account sales, and later being promoted to Business Sales Executive II. Her success within MegaPath set her on track to become a Channel Manager for the Northeast, with Fusion Connect, a position she held for several years prior to joining AireSpring.

"We are very happy to welcome a sales professional with Kerry's track record to the AireSpring Team," stated John Young SVP Channel Sales, AireSpring. "The greater New York, tri-state area is very important to us and we found the right combination of people, sales and technical skills in Kerry. She has developed valuable relationships over the years amongst channel partners in the greater New York area and they appreciate how she goes the extra mile for them and their customers."

August Promo: Lead Your Customers

Down the Path to Success

Successful telecom consultants understand that the customer comes first. And if you don't take care of your customers, they will soon be someone else's customers. Without that personal touch, and suppliers who will treat your customers as well as, or better than you do, you won't succeed in this industry. AireSpring understands this. After all, it is our own commitment to white glove, personal service and support, going that extra mile for our channel partners and their clients over the last 20 years, that has helped us build the business we have today.

Channel partners can always depend on Airespring to:

  • Provide experienced and professional solutions engineers to determine the best technology fit for your customers.
  • Treat each order like a project assigning a team of managed services engineers (MSEs) and project coordinators (PC) to assist you and your clients.
  • Provide 24/7/365 network monitoring and white glove support by a core team of caring, committed technicians who average a 20 second response time.
  • Publish an escalation list that goes up to our CEO.

To begin, please tell us a little about yourself, your agency, and your professional background in Telecom?

I was born in Europe and at 12 years of age, I immigrated to Canada. Then when I turned 15, I moved to the United States where I wanted to attend high school and college. I was attracted to the United States because there was an abundance of colleges and universities that offered the engineering discipline in which I aspired to obtain a degree. I graduated from Fresno State University with two degrees one of them being Industrial Technology Electronic Engineering and the other being in Public Administration. I started out in my Telecom career at Pacific Telephone right after high school and continued to work there all through my college years.

Upon graduating from college, I remained with Pacific Telephone and was promoted to Outside Plant Engineer, then Engineering Manager, and ultimately District Manager, Construction and Engineering. Although I thoroughly enjoyed my career at Pacific Telephone, right from the onset I had a goal in mind, and that was that at age 35 I would leave the Telephone Company and I would start my own enterprise. Committed to my goal, I did just that!

Commensurate with Divestiture of the Bell System, of which Pacific Telephone was a member, on January 1, 1984, I left the Telephone Company and founded New Age Communications Center (NACC-TEL). NACC-TEL provided telecom consulting and marketed, installed, and maintained Business Telephone Systems. NACC-TEL successfully grew in its business endeavors and had obtained a very desirable customer service reputation.

Then in early 1999, through a business acquaintance of mine, I was approached with the proposition that there was a Public Company that was interested in acquiring NACC-TEL. Based on the purchase proposal, I agreed to sell, with the caveat that I could engage in a competitive enterprise paralleling NACC-TEL's business services and offerings. The acquiring company agreed provided that the home base of my new venture would locate at least 100 miles away from NACC-TEL's home base. With all the terms agreed upon NACC-TEL was sold to Prime Companies Inc., and Telcom Data, LLC, my current enterprise, began operations.

Fast forward nine years, through developing circumstances at Prime Companies Inc., I actually purchased NACC-TEL's assets and customer base back and merged it with Telcom Data, LLC. In today's world Telcom Data, LLC is a total telecommunications provider. We offer business telephone systems, security cameras, access control, computers, and servers and with the unwavering help and support of AireSpring, yes, we also offer internet services and dial tone!

What do you like about working with AireSpring?

There are very distinct attributes that convinced us to become a channel partner and ardent supporter of AireSpring. We pride ourselves in being, and clearly aligning ourselves with the best! And most definitively AireSpring qualifies and operates according to the attributes of being the BEST OF THE BEST! AireSpring:

  1. Always makes the customer first.
  2. When a partner or customer calls, AireSpring guarantees one will speak with a live human being! HOW REFRESHING AND REWARDING!
  3. Should a case of trouble arise, AireSpring is ALWAYS PROACTIVE!!! AireSpring's uses Issuetrak, a state-of-the-art electronic ticketing system that manages customer support requests & tracks performance notifications to everyone involved, from partner to customer, to internal AireSpring personnel! What a novel approach! Service matters! In many, if not most instances, before the customer knows there is an issue, AireSpring's support team is on it with the intensity and motivation to resolve it!
  4. It is very, very rewarding to know that you count and the customer counts! Anytime an opportunity arises, I have but one person to call Michael Nesci [AireSpring National Channel Manager]. Without excuses or delays one gets the answers and the quote or quotes required! A true PROFESSIONAL WITH INDELIBLE INTEGRITY - Michael Nesci!
  5. Good judgment always prevails and is exercised in customer situations and when escalation is required, one does not have to request it...it just happens!
  6. In summary, my experience with AireSpring is all about making service be the ultimate, and the customer be king!

What would you say is the secret to being a successful trusted advisor/sales agent in today's marketplace?

In order to be successful as an advisor, service provider, or agent in today's marketplace, always remember that one works for the customer...always exercise integrity...and without exception always deliver on your commitment! Make service personal!

What is the "next big thing" you think trusted advisors/agents should be aware of or get involved in etc. in 2021 and 2022?

The next big thing in our industry is the continued application of web-based services and solutions, and the increased integration of wired and wireless voice services.

What are some of your hobbies and interests outside of telecom?

In terms of hobbies, I like to travel and most definitely I love boating and while not an avid fisherman, I enjoy fishing. I am fortunate enough to live in a community that has a very large private lake that affords me the tremendous opportunity for boating and fishing.

Tell us about your professional background and how long you've been in the telecom industry.

I've been in the Telecom industry for almost 20 years. I started out selling residential telephone service at O1 Telephone in Sacramento, CA and was promoted to Billing Manager within 6 months. Unfortunately, O1 Telephone was short-lived and when it closed, I transitioned to the O1 Communications side of the business. O1 Communications was founded in 1998 as a California-based CLEC to provide next-generation data telecommunications services to Internet Service Providers (ISPs). O1 quickly became one of the largest dial access providers to ISPs in California. When I first joined them, I supported the voice provisioning team, and worked my way up to Supervisor. O1 was a small company where I had the opportunity to listen and learn a tremendous amount from the Telecom voice provisioning, Network Engineering, IT and Network Operations Center (NOC) teams as we were all in close proximity to one another. Then in 2010, O1 was acquired by TelePacific (now TPx). I was promoted to a Project Engineer coordinating orders, provisioning number ports, and assisting with service turn-ups until coming to AireSpring in July 2020.

Tell us about your role at AireSpring, how are you specifically helping partners/customers, etc.

I am a Senior Project Coordinator and I work to ensure the service installation process goes as smoothly as possible. Changing carriers, installing new or moving services is often stressful and challenging for customers and I do my best to alleviate some of that stress by consistent communication, being responsive to calls and emails, and a little handholding when that is needed.

What do you enjoy most about working at AireSpring?

I enjoy the culture. At AireSpring employees are encouraged to provide new ideas or processes that may make our jobs easier. There is a family atmosphere and everyone is so willing to help each other and really care about each other. I feel that I am an important part of the team and that I am not just a number. I also like that we are encouraged to "Delight" our customers, not just give them good or great customer service. I strive daily to "Delight" each of my customers!

What are some of your hobbies or interests outside of the office?

I am very family focused. I spend as much time as possible with my mom, son, and daughter-in-law and 2 grandchildren, Evelynn and Jordan. My granddaughter Evelynn was on a travel softball team but due to the pandemic, she is no longer playing. My grandson Jordan recently earned his black belt in Tae Kwon Do. I have a year-old boxer mix named Poppy that goes everywhere with me. I am also a baseball fan and love my San Francisco Giants and their minor league AAA team, the Sacramento River Cats.
