AireSpring has added a powerful new group communication and collaboration tool, AireSpring Online Meeting. This video conferencing application allows up to 100 participants, 30 of whom can connect with HD video, to meet and collaborate from desktop and mobile devices.

Audio conferencing for additional participants is supported, as well as screen sharing, screen annotation and shareable remote control by participants. Meeting notes can be automatically captured and shared with all participants.

Meeting hosts have full control of the meeting and participants, and can automatically transcribe meetings with actionable items identified. Custom branding with customer logo and background is available.

Meetings are secure, with WebRTC encryption standards including Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and Datagram Transport Layer Security (DTLS) for signaling, and Secure Real-time Transport Protocol (SRTP) protocols for all data and media.

Meetings can be recorded by the meeting host, with unlimited cloud storage and sharing, so that no one ever has to miss a meeting.

AireSpring offers Online Meeting in two versions. The Free version supports up to four participants and can be bundled with compatible services as a bonus or a trial product at $0.00 MRC. The Pro version supports up to 100 participants and includes more sophisticated features including custom background and logo for customer branding.

Let's face it, legacy wide-area network (WAN) architectures are not equipped to handle and support the connectivity demands of the modern, distributed workforce. In today's economy, advanced communication tools and SaaS applications are necessary to maintain high productivity, workplace efficiencies, and profitability. But most traditional WANs struggle under this traffic tsunami. Unified Communications (UC), video collaboration, and SaaS applications impose increasing demands on legacy WANs that struggle to keep up with data load, while employee productivity suffers.

Tell us a little about yourself, your agency and your professional background in telecom?

I did not have what would be called a "traditional path" into the telecom industry. I worked as an EMT for many years before taking a sales job at a Software as a Service (SaaS) company. It was quite a transition and learning experience. Select Communications was originally founded in 2006 and started off selling conferencing services. Over time our firm transitioned into more traditional telecom services, and today we sell a variety including UCaaS, connectivity, SD-WAN, cybersecurity and other cloud services. We have been named to the INC 5000 fastest growing companies for the last three consecutive years. I have been very fortunate to bring some of the absolute best people in our industry onto the Select Communications team. Our people are the reason we are so successful.

What do you like about working with AireSpring?

AireSpring has surfaced as a favorite provider for our customers and our sales team. The overwhelming feedback that I have received is that AireSpring is extremely responsive, and they listen to our customers' needs. The AireSpring team is very knowledgeable and very easy to work with.

What would you say is the secret to being a successful trusted advisor/sales agent in today's marketplace?

I believe there are several attributes that are critical in building a successful agency in today's marketplace. As always, there is no getting around hard work and tenacity. There is no secret recipe to working hard. However, in today's market we all need to do much more than just grind things out. Solid agencies need to be able to scale. They require both human and capital resources. I also believe that processes are critical for growth and scalability. I am very fortunate to have a business partner that is the best in our industry at building processes with cutting edge technology. This has allowed Select to position ourselves to hit some very big goals that we have set as a company. We are looking to hire ten new sales reps over the next year. This would not be possible without having great processes in place to track our success.

What is the "next big thing" you think trusted advisors/agents should be aware of or get involved with in 2021 and 2022?

I don't know if there is just "one big thing" agencies need to be aware of this next year. If I had to pinpoint an important area of focus, I would say it's critical to have a crystal-clear plan and goals that resonate with your team members. Strong leadership is so important as a company grows and changes.

Our leadership team spends a significant amount of time planning and setting company goals for 2021 and beyond. We have a very clear five-year plan that we share with our staff. I also believe it's important to constantly be learning and challenging ourselves as leaders. We are always asking ourselves how we can be better at what we do each day.

I believe there has never been a better time to own and grow an agency. The resources that we have at our fingertips are tremendous.

What are some of your hobbies and interests outside of telecom?

I love spending time with my kids. I have coached more than forty youth sports teams over the past fifteen years. I also love working out and running, and travel is always at the top of my list.

Tell us about your professional background and how long you've been in the telecom industry.

I have over 20 years in telecom. Most recently, I was a Regional Account Director at Star2Star, and qualified for President's Club while helping triple their sales. Most of those who know me in the industry are familiar with me from there or my previous regional positions: Channel Sales Manager with Global Communications Group; Channel Sales Director with Fusion; Network Equipment Account Executive with Frontier; Territory Channel Account Manager with ADTRAN and Senior Account Executive with QWEST.

Tell us about your role at AireSpring.

I am a Regional Channel Manager covering the Rocky Mountain Region-from Arizona and New Mexico up through Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Montana and South Dakota, with Nebraska and Kansas as well. My job is to help bring twenty-first century technology to the Old West. I am bringing in partners that I have worked with over the past twenty years to help them diversify their commission streams, as well as getting acquainted with new agents every day. I help them to think outside the normal quote request of just providing a circuit by thinking about failover options, security, and other voice services. I am also assisting partners with closing deals by meeting directly with the customer to help them better understand the value that AireSpring can offer them.

What do you enjoy most about working at AireSpring?

I love the activity level! I am thrilled to be working again with agents that I haven't engaged for a while, since I now have broader services to offer them. I love the product portfolio and enjoy selling services that I have not been able to offer for several years. It has also been a pleasure working with our engineering and support team as well as the openness of being able to communicate easily with upper management.

What are some of your hobbies or interests outside of the office?

I have been riding dirt bikes for almost 50 years, starting at the age of 8. I grew up in Southern California, riding at all the local motocross tracks and various desert spots. Today, I race in the 50 year-old and above class in the A division, which is the top class. I typically finish in the top 35 positions overall out of over 300 racers. I also enjoy mountain biking, working out, boating, snow skiing and hiking.
