AireSpring is excited to announce Joseph Goodyer has joined the team as Vice President of Global Connectivity. Joseph will lead the expansion of AireSpring's international connectivity partnerships and global reach.

Joseph began his career in telecommunications in 2009 at Global Telecom and Technology (GTT Communications). While at GTT, Joseph helped drive their successful international growth initiatives.

Joseph left GTT to join Advantage Communications Group, LLC, where he spent several years as Director of International Sales, further developing their international expansion initiatives. Joseph then moved on to CMC Networks joining their Johannesburg, South Africa office as Americas Manager and Senior New Business Development.

Prior to joining AireSpring, Joseph led the international expansion strategy as Managing Director at Brodynt (now Expereo) where he focused on their North American global growth initiative.

Joseph holds a bachelor's degree in Business Management from Sheffield Hallam University, UK and has been named by Capacity Media as one of the Top 100 Most Influential People in Telecom every year since 2019.

"Joseph brings a wealth of experience to the AireSpring Global Connectivity team along with a passion for driving global growth and providing innovative solutions," stated Avi Lonstein, AireSpring CEO. "He will be instrumental in leading our Global Connectivity initiative and growing our international presence."

AireSpring is excited to announce it has won a prestigious Stevie Award, which recognizes global achievements for customer service, contact center, business development, and sales professionals. AireSpring received the award for Back-Office Customer Service Team of the Year - Technology Industries.

This is the third consecutive year that AireSpring has won the award. AireSpring's submission this year centered on the work undertaken by the customer service team to automate scheduling to best match the Managed Service Engineer (MSE) skill set to the needs of a customer for onboarding. The Stevie awards will be presented to honorees during a virtual awards ceremony on May 11.

The 16th Annual Stevie Awards for Sales & Customer Service honors global achievements for customer service, contact center, business development, and sales professionals. Awards are decided through a worldwide vote by more than 44,000 industry professionals.

"AireSpring is honored to once again receive this prestigious 2022 Stevie Award, recognizing the deep commitment to service and professionalism represented by our Customer Service Department," said Avi Lonstein, AireSpring CEO. "This award belongs to our outstanding Team Members who always make it their priority to provide personalized customer service to delight our customers and partners every single day," added Lonstein.

AireSpring is happy to announce that it has been honored with the 2021 INTERNET TELEPHONY Friend of the Channel Award. Presented by INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine, the Friend of the Channel award is given to organizations running world-class channel programs that attract the top telecom/communications VARs, MSPs and agents.

This is the fifth consecutive year AireSpring has won the award. AireSpring has received numerous industry awards for excellence in customer service, as well as for outstanding products and services across a broad range of innovative cloud communications and connectivity solutions. Renowned in the industry for white-glove service that extends throughout the customer life cycle, AireSpring consistently delivers high-touch customer service built around personal interaction in a field that relies increasingly on automation and artificial intelligence (AI).

"We pride ourselves on providing premier-level, concierge service, and one of the most diverse, solution driven product lines in the channel," said John Young, AireSpring's Senior Vice President of Channel Sales. "AireSpring continues to be a channel-driven organization committed to offering channel partners award-winning products along with industry-leading evergreen commissions and SPIFFs."

AireSpring is excited to announce the availability of VMware's Edge Network Intelligence application as an add-on to our VMware SD-WAN offering. Edge Network Intelligence, or ENI, is a highly secure, machine learning (ML) analytics engine and Artificial Intelligence IT operations (AIOps) solution developed to identify, monitor, and diagnose problems with devices connected to the enterprise edge. As a machine learning-powered device, ENI doesn't require complex configuration and learns from the data it gathers, making it easy to use.

VMware ENI natively integrates with VMware SD-WAN™ gateways and hubs and is an excellent tool for organizations to deepen their understanding of their network architecture at the SD-WAN edge point and to become more familiar with their data flow. Developed to operate in real-time, ENI ensures that devices are performing optimally, are fully secure, and are self-healing enabled through the LAN together with SD-WAN.

VMware ENI delivers actionable data and deep insight into networks, devices, and applications that operations teams can proactively address and remediate. VMware ENI is designed for businesses of all sizes and provides IT with actionable and automated insights on network health and application delivery.

As part of our value-added managed SD-WAN offering, AireSpring will be providing an ENI license to each customer's first VMware SD-WAN™ hardware device at no additional cost. The initial purchase of an SD-WAN device will include free ENI service for the purchased device. To activate the ENI capabilities simply notify your Project Coordinator (PC)/Managed Services Engineer (MSE) during the turn up process. If you have an existing customer that has purchased AireSpring's SD-WAN offering, you can add one device for free as well.

Premium Internet Access for China

AireSpring has added Premium Internet Access for China, which allows access to global resources for users in China. It can be deployed as a standalone internet product or integrated with AireSpring's Global Managed SD-WAN solution . This premium internet service is an ideal solution to replace a costly MPLS or an Ethernet Private Networking deployment for businesses in China. Please reach out to your AireSpring Channel Manager to learn more.

International AireSpring Gateway Access ( AGA )

AireSpring recently added this capability to its AireSpring Global SD-WAN and Global Private Network (GPN) -they now link into the Airespring core, allowing global customers the ability to get Airespring Gateway Access (AGA). The product is identical to the similar AGA feature for domestic sites. Pricing varies for customers in China than for Global customers outside of China. Please reach out to your AireSpring Channel Manager for more information.

To begin, please tell us a little about your company and your professional background in the industry.

I began my career at AT&T, and I was there for 23 years, most recently as a Regional Sales Manager (RSM) for West Texas. During my tenure as an RSM, I managed a team of fifteen account executives in West Texas who were responsible for maintaining and growing SMB accounts. My team was honored for their award-winning performance, leading the nation in Net Promoter Score attainment as well as awards for top producing team in year over year revenue and sales growth.

Starting Cactus Technology Solutions after retiring from AT&T was a natural transition for me. I was blessed to have several of my team members from AT&T join me in the venture and we have continued working with many of our long-term clients today.

We've been working with some of our customers for over 25 years and trust is key. Being a part of the channel and having the breadth of providers, technology, and support from our masters has been eye-opening and refreshing to us and our clients. We can bring so much more to them now and be a true advisor in their organization versus selling them one provider and having to make it work as we did in previous roles. We have learned a lot and are having fun too.

What do you like about working with AireSpring?

What I like most about AireSpring is the trust I've been able to establish with their team members-I appreciate their honesty throughout our relationship. We've been working with AireSpring for 4 years, and I've been working with AireSpring Regional Channel Manager Brian Fortenbury for over 20 years, because he first worked with me at AT&T.

"AireSpring has always been 100% responsive, and the project management and implementation have been seamless."

AireSpring turns around quotes quickly and provides high-touch customer service with channel managers who are attentive and knowledgeable. I think QuoteSpring is a powerful application. We have the flexibility to choose a price point that will help us win the deal based on the competitive nature of the situation and based upon a client's budget. That is very unique to Airespring and a huge differentiator with my team when they are choosing the provider to engage. Brian gets us the tools to do that. That's huge.

AireSpring has always been 100% responsive, and the project management and implementation have been seamless. Setting proper expectations with our clients regarding installation time frames is important to us. AireSpring has always been honest in the installation time frame quotes, making us look good in that regard with our clients. Our clients trust us, and we value a long-term relationship with them. AireSpring is a big part of that relationship. All companies have challenges, but it's the relationship with the Channel Manager that makes a big difference.

Customer experience is very important to us and AireSpring has been a key to our success. Even though we have an internal project management team, we still rely on AireSpring to help us provide optimal customer experiences. AireSpring's growth also benefits us, because when you grow, we grow. We prefer to align with companies that have the same customer service-oriented values, and AireSpring shares ours.

" We prefer to align with companies that have the same customer service-oriented values, and AireSpring shares ours."

"…create long term relationships and be engaged in all IT decisions… Proving value and building trust. Once trust is there, clients buy."

What would you say is the secret to being a successful trusted advisor/sales agent in today's marketplace?

A successful trusted advisor must know the industry and use their resources to educate themselves on trends and emerging technology to be able to prove the value they can bring to an organization. The goal is to create long term relationships and be engaged in all IT decisions our clients make. Proving our value and building trust is the path to get there. Once trust is there, clients buy.

In addition, we must evolve from the traditional telecom/circuit selling agent to a consultative trusted advisor for them. The ultimate goal is to become an extension of their IT team, sitting on the same side of the table helping them understand trends, disruptors and identifying problems inside their business, and designing the evolution and transformation roadmap they need to achieve their goals. We have many sophisticated tools at our fingertips provided by the master agents we align with, and the most successful advisors use those sales enablement resources to train and engage with clients.

What is the "next big thing" you think trusted advisors/agents should be aware of or get involved in in the near future?

The war between Russia and Ukraine hopefully has opened the business community's eyes and shown them how critical protecting your business from a cybersecurity threat can be. Threats are not only external but equally internal. With more remote workers out there than ever before, threats often come from an internal source so it is important to educate our clients on employee awareness training programs and help them create security roadmaps to make sure they are covered from all angles. Trusted advisors must consistently engage in continuing education on emerging technology and security trends to help their customers institute a security mindset into their organization. The technology and tools are only part of it.

For a lot of companies out there it's no longer if you'll have a cybersecurity attack, it's when. That's the reality. Cybersecurity insurance is also getting tougher to qualify for and maintain. It's getting increasingly difficult for clients to meet the requirements of cyber insurance and it's only going to get worse as hackers get more sophisticated. As a trusted advisor, asking discovery questions and listening to their needs to really help them is key.

Companies that have put spending on security on hold because they felt the fines were not severe enough to justify the spend can no longer think like that. It's not just fines; they can lose their entire business. We had a client who paid a $3 million ransom and still did not get their data back. It was devastating.

What are some of your hobbies and interests outside of telecom?

I love spending time with my 3 boys and husband. Being the only female in the family forced me to take on some new hobbies through the years in order to hang with the guys, but I grew to love those hobbies and still participate in them today. We love to golf, hunt, and fish as a family. We're in a perfect place here in Texas for hunting. We host the annual Come Get Bruised dove hunt every September and have hunters from all over join us each year. We're empty-nesters now, so we're traveling a lot more and really enjoying that. My husband and I love to ride our Harley Davidson motorcycles. We're doing all the fun stuff now that our kids are grown and we have some time on our hands.

My sons Tanner, Miles, and Matthew are 26, 25 and 22. My youngest son, Matthew, graduates from my alma mater, Texas Tech, in May. His major is Sports Management. Texas Tech made it to the Sweet Sixteen in basketball this season, and I've been enjoying going to the games with him over the last year. Miles, my middle son, works with me in our back office, and our oldest son Tanner recently married his wife Alexis, and they live close by.

I also volunteer and contribute to annual events that drive corporate sponsorship for local charities. I'm actively involved with the Telecom Pioneers, AT&T's employee volunteer group as well as sponsoring and volunteering on committees with The Junior League of Abilene, Go Red for Women, The Greater El Paso Chamber of Commerce, The Abilene Chamber of Commerce, The Lubbock Chamber of Commerce, The Alliance for Women and Children and The Alliance of Channel Women.

At Airespring, we know that it is our commitment to customer service that makes a difference for our partners and their clients. Great customer service starts with great employees. Here is your chance to get to know the Account Management team.

Please tell us about your professional background and how long you've been in the telecom industry.

I have been in the Telecom industry since 1997, selling telephone, internet, and co-location services. My first job in telecom was with a company called GST Telecom in San Francisco. I was a senior account executive selling voice services and internet, similar to what I'm doing now. We didn't have integrated circuits back then--there was a voice circuit and an internet circuit, which were two separate things. There were a lot of Internet Service Providers (ISPs) around in those days, so we so sold inbound PRIs for dial-up services, internet access and colocation cabinets. Before coming to AireSpring, I did the tour. I worked for every telecom company you can imagine except for AT&T. I don't know of a telecom company that I didn't work for.

What I like about telecom is the exciting and always-changing technologies, and the people. It's something I'm familiar with. I have a lot of relationships with people in the industry. When I started in telecom, Competitive Local Exchange Carriers (CLECs) were the new thing, so I was there in a history-making era of the telecommunications industry, and it was new for us to work for a competitor. It was the first time a competitor was allowed to market so it was exciting.

Tell us about your role at AireSpring and how long you've been with the company.

I'm an account manager, which consists of add-ons, upgrades, site moves and ensuring our customers receive the best service possible. I've been employed here at Airespring since July 2019. I think what's important to me in my role is being a part of complex solutions. I love being a part of our customers' solutions. Today, for example, a customer wanted to implement a second circuit as a failover circuit in case his first circuit failed. I would never have been a part of that customer interaction in direct sales. Just being a part of a complex internal solution is exciting to me.

What do you enjoy most about working at AireSpring?

What I like most about working at Airespring is I get to help solve our customer's challenges, including converting customers to Cloud PBX, SD-WAN, Internet, and SIP Trunks. I like being a part of the solution.

I think the most exciting thing in telecom today is the technology. To be able to order a circuit, and to be able to utilize voice and data over that circuit and unify communications over a mobile phone device, plus have AireSpring's MaX UC video meetings all under one umbrella, all under one company--just being able to have that technology to communicate is pretty awesome. If you would have told me 15 years ago that I could be on my desk phone and switch the call to my cell phone as I walk out of the office, I would have thought you'd be exaggerating, but that's the technology that we have today.

What are some of your hobbies or interests outside of the office?

My hobbies include collecting vintage vinyl Classical and Jazz records. I'm a "Hi-Fi buff", an audiophile, so all my equipment is custom-made by artisans in that industry. My amplifiers, pre-amplifiers, record player, cartridge, speaker wire, speaker stands, and speakers are all custom-made-every aspect is custom-made. You can't buy these off the shelf. This equipment took 3 months to have made. I've been doing this for so long that I know what kind of sound to expect from certain equipment, so each component is designed to play jazz and classical music.

I even have a Facebook group called Modern Audiophile, and it has about 1,000 members. We talk about everything from speakers to amplifiers to wires to cartridges to room acoustics-all things audio. A lot of small manufacturers and audio enthusiasts are in the group. I post on there at least once a week.

I buy so many records that it's hard to choose, but one record that I'm excited about is Pharoah Sanders, a jazz saxophone player. He's been around a long time but he's new to me. He's not a Miles Davis or a Thelonius Monk in the industry but he's a gem of a find. An underground player that's just really good.

I also coach pastors of small churches and I have a small group of micro-churches that I consult with concerning evangelism and church membership. I also developed a professional spreadsheet to track membership growth. That's my spiritual contribution.

I'm also a twin. I have a twin brother and my wife of 33 years also has a twin sister. I have two grown kids, Diamond, 26, and Troy Jr., 32.
